El origen de Portugal y la reinstauración de las diócesis de Tui y Braga tras la invasión musulmana no modificaron las antiguas demarcaciones territoriales. Los talleres formados en la construcción de sus catedrales influyeron en el románico de sus diócesis. De la etapa románica de la de Tui pasaron a sus iglesias una voluminosa labra de sus capiteles y la fuerte molduración de su puerta norte; de Braga, trascendieron la decoración de sus arquivoltas e impostas de la portada occidental, así como la perforación del tímpano de su puerta norte, repetida también en el sur de la diócesis de Ourense.
Finalmente, la puerta del Obispo de la catedral de Zamora tuvo amplio eco tanto en la propia ciudad como en Salamanca y cercanías de Porto, al tiempo que sus círculos se transforman en pequeños cilindros macizos en Allaríz, Augas Santas y, ya en época gótica, en Monterrei.
