Resumen de HOPE: How our Occupation is Paving a new Era

Emma M. Scammell

  • Each year, the University of Toronto holds the Thelma Cardwell Research Day to feature the research conducted by its occupational therapy students and to afford its community the opportunity to hear a lecture from a major thought leader in the field. Working in the community, occupational therapists are addressing the broad needs of oiu society with initiatives such as Dream Weavers, an up-and-coming occupational therapy collective helping young adults with disabilities and mental health issues exiting the paediatric health care system learn life and employment skills as they enter into adulthood. Occupational therapy leaders in mental health have laid a foundation for mental health practice that goes well beyond the mental health facility.
