    A Origem da Lingoa Portvgvesa (1606), de Duarte Nunes do Leão, é o tema deste trabalho, integrando um projeto que focaliza a gramaticografia em Língua Portuguesa, do século XVI ao século XXI, desenvolvido pelo Grupo de Historiografia da Língua Portuguesa, da PUC-SP. Nele, objetiva-se descrever e explicar essa obra, observando-se os princípios da Historiografia Linguística, a saber: contextualização, imanência e adequação (KOERNER,1996). Analisaram-se a Estrutura da Obra, a Dedicatória e capítulos com particularidades da Língua Portuguesa ou com relações estabelecidas entre ela e a Língua Espanhola. Os resultados mostram que essa obra, de caráter inovador, dá continuidade à tradição greco-latina presente na gramaticografia portuguesa dos séculos XVI e XVII, tendo como referência a Língua Latina e o uso correto da língua vernácula, como expressão da identidade nacional portuguesa, e rompe com os trabalhos gramaticais de seus contemporâneos.

    Origem da Lingoa Portvgvesa (1606), by Duarte Nunes do Leão, is the theme of this paper, as part of a project that focuses on Grammaticography in Portuguese Language between the XVI and the XXI centuries, which is beign developed by the Portuguese Language Historiography Group, at PUC-SP. The purpose is to describe and explain that work according to principles of Linguistics Historiography, such as: contextualization, immanence and adequacy (KOERNER, 1996). The Work Structure, The Dedication and chapters, specially focusing on specificities of the Portuguese Language were analyzed, or with relations established between her and the Spanish Language. The results show that this work continues the Greek/Latin tradition seen in Grammaticography in Portuguese Language between the XVI and the XVII centuries, based on Latin references and the accurate use of native language as an expression of the national Portuguese identity, and, by its historical character, innovative, breaks with the grammatical works of his contemporaries.
