Resumen de Implications of the impact factor
In April 7, 2004 the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) posted a policy statement to their web site on the impact factor where they stated the following limitations of the measurement: "...impact factor can be affected by a number of aspects unrelated to journal quality, including self-citation by a journal, publication timing, and types of articles published" (WAME, 2004).
