Resumen de Lope de Barrientos: Promotor del linaje Barrientos de Cuenca

En este artículo trataremos de ofrecer las claves que hacen de Lope de Barrientos, más conocido como el obispo de Cuenca, cuya vida transcurrió entre el final del siglo XIV y los tres primeros cuartos del XV, el fundador del linaje Barrientos en Cuenca. Asimismo, expondremos los sucesos que lo ligan a la historia de la ciudad, intentado ofrecer nuevos datos y perspectivas de estudio. Para ello se ha revisado la documentación existente tanto la perteneciente a la corte castellana como la conservada en el Archivo Secreto Vaticano, cuyo listado ofrecemos en un apartado dedicado al estado de la cuestión de las fuentes documentales que se han manejado para el estudio del personaje

In this paper we discuss the key ways that Lope de Barrientos is considered the founder of the Barrientos’ lineage iin Cuenca. Lope de Barrientos was the bishop of Cuenca in the second part of the 15th century until his death. On the other hand, we will explain the facts that happened in Cuenca in that time and we will offer new arguments and perspectives. In addition we have reviewed the documentation that is preserved from Castilian court and the Vatican Secret Archive; this list of Vatican documents is attached in the appropriate section where we study the documents to study this character
