[...]we thought it was time to issue a call to advance our scholarship on enablement, globally. [...]in all three countries, the right to fair and equitable employment is guaranteed at the system level; however, in all three countries, many examples can be found where these laws are not translated into policy or the policy is not adhered to by the organization. [...]there is a need for occupational therapists to collaborate with persons with disabilities, their families, and disabled persons' organizations to advocate for change at the policy level, for example, to reduce stigma and discrimination directed toward injured workers in Toronto, to enforce the use of universal design principles in Port-auPrince, and to change organizational culture in Largo.
