Autoconfianza y prueba de selección universitaria de lenguaje y comunicación en Chile

    La investigación realizada tuvo dos objetivos principales. El primer objetivo consistió en identificar los factores que determinan la autoconfianza o autoeficacia con que los estudiantes chilenos enfrentan la Prueba de Selección Universitaria (PSU) en el área de Lenguaje y Comunicación, mientras que el segundo objetivo consistió en asociar los factores identificados anteriormente a variables de rendimiento académico en dichas pruebas de selección. Para realizar el estudio se aplicó una encuesta a una muestra de 584 alumnos de último año de enseñanza media, de las regiones Séptima y Metropolitana, provenientes de establecimientos de distinta dependencia con y sin daño de infraestructura como efecto del terremoto. A través de la estimación de una regresión logística se encontró, como variables explicativas de mayor significancia (autoconfianza), la cantidad de contenidos revisados en clases, estar orientado hacia metas de aprendizaje y la asistencia a un colegio particular pagado.

    The research had two main objectives. The first objective was to identify the factors that determine the self-confidence or self-efficacy with which Chilean students face the University Selection Examination (PSU, acronym in Spanish) in the subject of Language and Communication, while the second objective was to associate the factors identified above to variables of academic performance in these tests of selection. In order to carry out this study, a survey was applied to a sample of 584 students of last grade of secondary school, from the 7th Region and the Metropolitan Region, who belonged to different types of school with and without infrastructure damage because of the earthquake. Through the estimation of a logistic regression it was found, as explanatory variables of higher significance (self – confidence), the amount of revised contents in the classes, the orientation towards learning goals and the attendance at a private school
