    La ciencia y la tecnología  han constituido indudablemente un factor importante en el desarrollo sostenido de la sociedad cubana en el logro de resultados desde el punto de vista gnoseológico y práctico y donde las universidades juegan un papel preponderante, destacándose en el mejoramiento de la calidad de vida, la calidad de las relaciones de unos hombres con otros y  con el medio ambiente que a su vez están encaminados a la construcción de la justicia social a la que solo es posible llegar con un profesional formado en los más altos valores humanos de ahí que la prevención y tratamiento de la hipertensión arterial en el adulto mayor se ha manifestado como una problemática en nuestra sociedad teniendo en cuenta que dentro de algunos años el envejecimiento será en la mayor parte de la población cubana, por lo que es importante reflexionar al respecto.

    The science and the technology have constituted an important factor undoubtedly in the          sustained development of the Cuban society in the achievement of results from the point of          view gnoseológico and practical and where the universities play a preponderant paper,              standing out in the improvement of the quality of life, the quality of the relationships of some men with other and with the environment that in turn are guided to the construction from the social justice to the one that alone it is possible to arrive with a professional formed in the highest human values with the result that the prevention and treatment of the arterial hypertension in the biggest adult have shown as a problem in our society keeping in mind that in some years the aging will be in most of the Cuban population, for what is important to meditate in this respect.
