    El artículo analiza el lugar y la importancia de La deshumanización del arte en el conjunto de la obra de José Ortega y Gasset. Se examinan por un lado las conexiones de La deshumanización con otros escritos del propio Ortega, pero, al mismo tiempo, se muestra su íntima relación con la literatura de su tiempo, especialmente la generación del 27, y las primeras vanguardias. La importancia del arte y la estética en la filosofía de Ortega se presenta, además, de un modo claro en el estrecho lazo que los une con las teorías orteguianas de la técnica y de la vida en general.

    The article analyzes the place and importance of The Dehumanization of the Art in the whole Ortega y Gasset's works. The connexion of The Dehumanization of the Art with Ortega's other texts is examined in this work, but also its relationships with the literature of the period, especially with the so-called 27 Generation and the first vanguards. The importance of art and aesthetics in Ortega's philosophy appears clearly in the way they are related with the Orteguian theories of technique and life.
