    The present essay highlights, through some key elements of Ortega y Gasset's thought, his place in the vanguard of complex thought. With that purpose, this article will try to show how the Spanish author recovers the great intuition of Heraclitus, and creates a philosophy at the height of the science and knowledge of the twentieth century.
