    En el texto se estudia el origen de la obra La deshumanización del arte tomando como referencia el breve ensayo "Musicalia", aparecido en el tomo tercero de El Espectador. Partiendo de las consideraciones que Ortega y Gasset realizó sobre el nuevo arte en general y la nueva música en particular en ese pequeño trabajo, realizamos un comentario del acierto o no de sus intuiciones, contrastándolas con una obra de referencia clásica de la historiografía musical. Se estudia igualmente la concepción que de la música romántica tenía Ortega y Gasset.

    In this text, we study the origin of the work La deshumanización del arte, taking as a reference the brief essay "Musicalia", appeared in the third tome of El Espectador. Starting from the reflections that Ortega y Gasset made about the new art in general and particularly about the new music in this little work, we make a commentary of his good hit and his intuitions, and we contrast them with a classical work of musical historiography. We also study the conception that Ortega y Gasset had from the romantic music.
