Resumen de Solvers: The cycling shop

Sara Liebert, Michael Flynn (ed. lit.), Claire M. Riddell (ed. lit.)

  • The Cycling Shop problem looked like a worthwhile task to present to her fifth graders at John Muir Elementary School in San Francisco because it supports their school goal of building students' willingness and ability to be problem solvers. Also, she thoughts that the problem would be accessible to all her students while offering extension opportunities for those who were particularly interested. Here, Liebert talks about structured problem-solving lessons which stimulate creative mathematical activity.
