    El culto isíaco murió como tal a principios del siglo VI, o al menos esoafirma la Historia. Sin embargo, y aunque sea a una escala menor que en plena Modernidad, también podemos seguir el rastro de la diosa durante el Medievo, en una serie de escritos, anécdotas y elucubraciones eruditas que alcanzarán una mayor repercusión a partir del Renacimiento. Si bien Isis no tuvo nada que hacer ante el imparable ascenso del cristianismo, sí que logró mantener activo un interés por su figura que sigue presente en nuestra propia contemporaneidad. Este artículo pretende ofrecer una visión de conjunto sobre cuanto sabemos de la diosa Isis y su culto en esos diez siglos que presenciaron su caída definitiva, su persistencia entre distintos intelectuales cristianos del momento y su creciente adscripción al campo del esoterismo.

    The Isiac cult died at the beginning of the 6th century, or at least that is what history claims. However, we can find traces of the goddess during the Middle Ages, though on a smaller scale than those found in the Modern Era, in a series of writings, anecdotes, and scholarly reflections that will have a greater impact during the Renaissance. Although Isis could not offer resistance against the unstoppable rise of Christianity, she was able to sustain interest in her image, even nowadays. This article intends to offer an overview of what we know about the goddess Isis and her cult during the ten centuries that witnessed its definitive fall, her persistence through the works of several Christian intellectuals, and her growing association with the field of esotericism.
