    Como otras profesiones, también la Enfermería se enfrenta en la actualidad a situaciones de amenaza ante el futuro, condicionado por la progresiva automatización de las actividades más comunes y repetitivas, así como por la fragmentación del cuidado de las personas, en el que otros trabajadores tienen cada vez más protagonismo. Se calcula que en el inmediato futuro, la presencia de máquinas en los entornos de trabajo hará desaparecer casi la mitad de las ocupaciones actuales, si bien se señala igualmente que se crearán nuevas profesiones y cambiarán su enfoque todas las actuales. La Enfermería ha de afrontar esta situación de peligro real de desaparición emprendiendo medidas que aseguren una figura profesional clara, indiscutible en el área de cuidados compartida con otros. Ello debe significar un mayor énfasis en la visibilidad, la creatividad, el liderazgo, el dominio de la tecnología y la innovación, así como la oferta de nuevos servicios y de mayor calidad. Hay que lanzar una mirada atrevida y esperanzada hacia el futuro, a los próximos años que la Enfermería recorrerá, revisando los peligros presentes y aventurando algunas soluciones.

    Like other professions, Nursing is also currently facing threatening situations when facing the future, determined by the progressive automation of the most common and repetitive activities, as well as by the fragmentation of personal care, where other workers have increasingly gained prominence. It is estimated that in the immediate future, the presence of machines in work settings will lead to the disappearance of almost half of current jobs; however, it is also pointed out that new professions will be created, and there will be a change of approach in all current ones. Nursing must face this situation of real danger of disappearing by implementing measures that ensure a clear professional profile, indisputable in the patient care area shared with others. This should mean higher emphasis on visibility, creativity, leadership, knowledge of technology and innovation, as well as the offer of new services and higher quality. A bold and hopeful look must be thrown towards the future and the next years that Nursing will go through, reviewing current dangers and venturing some solutions.
