  • Resumen
    • “Clonazepam, oxycodone, and a bottle of Crown Royal were more than enough to successfully commit suicide. Years of using and a continued downhill spiral had led to this point of darkness. But, thankfully, I failed at killing myself and instead was admitted to a local addiction treatment facility, filled with shame and guilt.” Thus spoke a physician-addict in recovery to a group of medical students, of which I was a part, spending a week at a nationally renowned addiction treatment center interacting with patients with substance-related and addictive disorders. The location was an ideal environment for someone starting on the journey to recovery. The lush green fields and surrounding lakes filled the campus with a serene and calming aura creating an inspirational setting
