Karl Barth se preguntaba por que la propuesta hegeliana, que parece interpretar a cabalidad los anhelos del hombre moderno, habia sido rechazada tanto per filosofos como por teologos; explicaba este rechazo per la doble exigencia de Hegel para que la Filosofia se considerara como verdadera Teologia, y a la inversa. EI articulo analiza esta interpretacion y situa la cuestion en tomo a uno de los temas fundamentales del proyecto moderno, tal como fue leido per Spinoza: el problema del pecado, y de la relacion que este plantea entre entendimiento y voluntad.
