Status do embrião humano: fundamentação filosófica. Uma reflexão através da fenomenologia

    Given the difficulty in demonstrating the moment of ontogenesis in which personalization takes place, we sought to define, from a philosophic point of view, the nature of the human embryo regarding its individuality, using Phenomenology, specifically reflections of philosophers Bourghet and Merleau-Ponty on the embryo. Although the statement of their individuality does not entail ethical content in itself, from the point of view of ethical responsibility, it is an extremely important fact to be considered in the bioethical reflection about the moment of ontogeny from which human life must (ethical duty) be protected.

    Diante da dificuldade em se afirmar em que momento da ontogênese se dá a personalização, buscouse, a partir da reflexão filosófica, definir a natureza do embrião humano no que diz respeito à sua individualidade, utilizando-se como ferramenta a fenomenologia a partir de reflexões de Bourghet e Merleau-Ponty sobre o embrião. Embora a constatação de sua individualidade não comporte per si um conteúdo ético, sob o ponto de vista de uma ética de responsabilidade, é um dado relevante para a reflexão bioética sobre a partir de que momento da ontogênese deve-se (dever ético) proteger a vida humana.
