El rol y la importancia de la mujer al interior de la Iglesia Católica, es un tema del que, necesariamente, debemos hacernos cargo en el momento actual de nuestra historia, sobre todo por el hecho de estar insertos en el contexto de una comunidad eclesial, mayoritariamente femenina y, de una sociedad occidental que ha dado importantes pasos en el camino a la justicia y la igualdad de género. Este artículo, por lo tanto, buscará dar cuenta no solo de esta realidad que es evidente, sino, más aún, se preguntará -a partir de las ideas de Edith Stein y la figura paradigmática de María nazarena- si es posible releer el rol actual de la mujer a partir de una teología que ponga su foco de atención en la naturaleza misma del Dios Uno y Trino, y que, desde ahí, pueda cuestionar las condiciones y estructuras actuales de la Iglesia frente a la mujer de nuestro tiempo.The role and importance of women in the Catholic Church is a subject that must be necessarily consider at this time of our history, particularly due to the fact of being embedded in the context of a largely female ecclesial community and a western society that has taken important steps in the path of justice and gender equality. This paper, therefore, seeks to speak not only about this evident reality, but to wonder –from Edith Stein’s ideas and the paradigmatic figure of Mary the Nazarene- if it is possible to make a new reading of women’s current role starting from a theology that puts its attention in the nature of the One and Triune God and, from there, to question the current conditions and structures of the Church for the women of our time.
