Padres y jóvenes ante los riesgos de las TIC en España

    Este trabajo analiza la percepción sobre los nuevos riesgos sociales vinculados con las nuevas tecnologías de dos generaciones de españoles, los padres con hijos menores de edad y los jóvenes de 18 a 24 años. Para su estudio se tienen en cuenta: los cambios que están aconteciendo en la familia española, los procesos de construcción de autonomía en los jóvenes y la inserción de las nuevas tecnologías en los hogares. Para responder a las preguntas de investigación se utilizan dos encuestas del CIS, 2.899 (2011) y 2.987 (2013). Los resultados muestran que tanto padres como jóvenes coinciden en identificar los riesgos que supone la inserción de las nuevas tecnologías, a pesar de realizar un uso diferenciado de los mismas y optar por gestionar de forma diversa estos riesgos. Uno de cada tres padres ha pedido ayuda a sus hijos con Internet, existiendo factores diferentes en función de si se es padre o madre.

    This work analyses the perception of the new social risks linked to new technologies for two generations of Spaniards, parents of minors and young people aged 18 to 24 years old. The study takes into account the changes occurred in the Spanish family, the processes for young people building their own independence and the incorporation of new technologies at home. Two CIS surveys, namely 2.899 (2011) and 2.987 (2013) are used in order to provide an answer to the research questions. The results show that both parents and young people agree in identifying the risks involved in the incorporation of new technologies, in spite of the fact that the use they make of them is not the same and that they choose to manage these risks differently. One out of three parents has asked their children for help with the Internet, and different factors are involved depending on whether it is the father or the mother.
