    Como afirmó Gustavo Bueno en su obra España frente a Europa en 1999, la categoría de Imperio llegó a ser un tabú a nivel académico y coloquial. Sin embargo, la historiografía más actual ha recuperado la importancia del Imperio para comprender la Historia Universal, especialmente en nuestro presente con el Imperio realmente existente, Estados Unidos, y su idea del Destino Manifiesto, objeto del análisis de este trabajo

    As Gustavo Bueno said in his work España frente a Europa in 1999, the cathegory of Empire became a tabu in academic and informal level. But most recently historiography have remarked the importance of the Empire for understanding the Universal History, especially in our present with the Empire actually existing, the United States of America, and its idea of Manifest Destiny, the object of analysis of this work.
