    El estudio del papel de las emociones en la protesta y los movimientos sociales desde su inicio en los años noventa del siglo XX ha ido consolidándose y enriqueciendo la comprensión de la acción colectiva. Con este artículo se quiere proporcionar una revisión de las principales aportaciones teóricas y analíticas que componen este enfoque del estudio de la acción colectiva, con el objetivo de difundir el conocimiento de la literatura sobre emociones y protesta en la academia hispanohablante. La mayor difusión de esta literatura podría producir un incremento de análisis empíricos que ya están dando interesantes resultados para la comprensión de la acción colectiva –por ejemplo en América Latina–, y contribuir a la consolidación de este enfoque.

    Movimientos sociales, protesta, emociones, acción colectiva. The study of the role of emotions in protest and social movements from its beginning in the nineties of the twentieth century has been consolidating and enriching the understanding of collective action. The aim of this article is to provide a review of the main theoretical and analytical contributions of this approach to the study of collective action, in order to spread the knowledge of the literature on emotions and protest in Spanish academy. The wider circulation of this literature could produce an increase of empirical analyses, which are already providing interesting findings for understanding collective action –for example in several Latin American countries–, and contribute to the consolidation of this approach.
