  La literatura parte de la realidad, y por ello supone un reflejo de esta. En la novela negra, se puede destacar este rasgo, pudiendo encontrar alusiones a eventos que, en nuestro tiempo o en el pasado, figuraron en periódicos, noticias, y otros registros. La obra del español Eduardo Mendoza, La verdad sobre el caso Savolta, muestra el conflictivo pasado de Barcelona, y la saga de Montalbano, del italiano Andrea Camilleri, alterna la cotidianidad siciliana con los acontecimientos actuales más importantes.

  Literature starts from reality, therefore it is a reflection of it. In noir novels this feature can be hightlighted, being able to find allusions to events which, in our time or in the past, appeared in the newspapers, the news and other records. The novel of the Spanish writer Eduardo Mendoza, The Thruth about Savolta's Case, shows Barcelona's troubled past, and Montalbano's saga, by the italian Andrea Camilleri, alternates the Sicilian everyday life with the most important currents events.
