  Este artículo es un análisis sobre la dinámica del turismo de salud para el caso colombiano. A partir del panorama global del turismo de salud como sector emergente e innovador en la economía mundial se estudia la demanda, inversión en el sector, las previsiones para el sector teniendo en cuenta la fuerte inversión directa en infraestructura de salud y finalmente se establecen las recomendaciones para potenciar el turismo de salud colombiano como uno de talla mundial.  Cabe anotar que se busca establecer una previsión sobre este sector para los próximos seis años a partir de entrevistas con los principales gremios del sector y la recolección de datos de fuentes locales, nacionales e internacionales.

  This article is an analysis of the dynamics of health tourism for the Colombian case. The idea is to analyze the main characteristics of this emerging and innovative sector in terms of demand, investment and outlook given the strong direct investment in health infrastructure and finally stablish recommendations which promote Colombian health tourism as one of world class. It should be noted that the main purpose of this article is to forecast the overall sector for the next six years based on interviews with key industry associations and data collection from local, national and international sources.
