    El nuevo estudio sobre un libro ilustrado a mano japonés conservado en la Biblioteca de Bellas Artes de la Universidad Complutense, donado probablemente por Juan Cebrián Cervera (1848-1935), revela su confección en la segunda mitad del siglo XVII en Kioto, y que la historia narrada se identifica con Kifune no honji. Se aprecian la filiación a la escuela Tosa y la influencia de las ilustraciones de la Historia de Genji, pero con un toque popular. Constituye una obra pictórica de buena calidad y de gran rareza en España y en el mundo.

    This new study about a Japanese hand-illustrated book, preserved at The Complutense University of Madrid in the Library of Fine Art, probably donated by Juan Cebrián Cervera (1848-1935), reveals that this book was painted in the second half of the 17th century in Kyoto and that the narrated tale, is identified as Kifune no honji. The relationship with The Tosa School and the influence of the paintings of The Tale of Genji are appreciated, but a more popular feature is shown. It constitutes a good Japanese painting work, which is rare in Spain and in the world.
