Taxation and its law are being profoundly called into question by an economy that is not only globalised but that is shifting further into the digital world. The digital revolution and the a-territoriality that it generates leads to a change in thinking in terms of the concept of the traditional stable establishment and highlights its diminishing relevance. Better yet, the aim of reforming the concept towards a virtual stable establishment reveals the vanity of such an endeavour.
