  Este artigo analisa a relação entre velocidade e precisão no jornalismo praticado em internet a partir de estudo de cunho empírico realizado entre 02 e 07 de outubro no site UOL Eleições 2002, período de grande relevância por ser o final do primeiro turno das eleições presidenciais no Brasil. Os erros, classificados como ruídos de linguagem e imprecisão jornalística, ainda que com escala de gravidade diferentes, comprometem a qualidade da informação e, conseqüentemente, o eixo de sustentação da credibilidade do jornalismo.

  This article analyzes the relationship between speed and precision on Web papers. The site UOL Eleições 2002 (UOL Elections 2002) has been used as an empirical object. Inaccurate pieces of news have been mapped out from October 2 to October 7, 2002. That was a major time during the electoral period of 2002 in Brazil the end of the first round of the elections for presidency. Inaccuracies were classified as either language breakdown or journalistic imprecision. Although varying in range of gravity, they seriously compromise the quality of information and; therefore, the sustaining axis of journalism’s credibility.
