    To many individuals, fiction can represent a possibility of life and happiness, being built, against common sense, not from a fantasy, but from the resignification of the elements of a harsh and unbearable reality. The study aims to investigate, from the novel Landscape with dromedary (2010), by Carola Saavedra and her character Érika, how fiction can transcend the artistic barriers and establish affective memories (re)construction and, consequently, identity in individuals who, motivated by a personal trauma, end up finding in the merger between the real and the imaginary a way to support their existence. Based on the non-places theory by Marc Augé, we try to understand the situation of contemporary places in which this process takes place; and from Karlheinz Stierle’s theory of fiction, we intend to clarify the way Érika operates an auto-fictional act by rebuilding her own life and identify. Besides that, by proposing an approximation between her attitude and her own writing act, we aim to verify how literature/fiction sets itself as the as the place of building the possible and not just as a copy of the tragic reality.

    Para muitos indivíduos, a ficção pode representar uma possibilidade de vida e de felicidade, sendo construída, ao contrário do que comumente se pensa, a partir não de uma fantasia, mas da ressignificação de elementos de uma realidade dura e insuportável. Este trabalho busca investigar, a partir do romance Paisagem com Dromedário (2010), de Carola Saavedra e de sua personagem Érika, como a ficção pode transcender as barreiras artísticas e estabelecer uma (re)construção de memórias afetivas e, consequentemente, identitárias nos indivíduos que, motivados por um trauma pessoal, acabam encontrando na fusão entre o plano real e o imaginário um modo de sustentar sua existência. Com base na teoria dos “não lugares” de Marc Augé, procuramos entender a conjuntura dos espaços contemporâneos em que se dá esse processo e, a partir da teoria de Karlheinz Stierle sobre a ficção, procuramos elucidar de que forma Érika opera um ato auto ficcional de reconstrução da própria vida e identidade. Além disso, propondo uma aproximação entre sua atitude e a do ato da própria escrita, buscamos verificar como a literatura/ficção se inscreve no lugar da construção do possível e não apenas como reprodução da realidade trágica.
