    Nas obras de Dostoiévski são encontrados temas subjetivos e temas psicológicos. Porém, sobressaem-se também temas de cunho social. Ao discutir os dilemas existenciais e religiosos das personagens, Dostoiévski trata da questão social na qual as personagens estão inseridas. O caráter social não se encontra presente somente na composição das personagens dostoievskianas, mas no projeto ideológico levantado pelo autor (ou nos vários projetos ideológicos, possibilitados pelo recurso da polifonia). O trabalho está estruturado em duas partes. No primeiro momento, faz-se uma abordagem do contexto socioeconômico e político da Rússia czarista no século XIX, para, em seguida, discutir a importância dos movimentos sociais, que buscavam combater a opressão do regime czarista, na elaboração dos romances sociais de Dostoiévski.

    In the works of Dostoievsky are found subjective issues and psychological issues. However, prevailing social issues. To discuss the existencial and religious dilemmas of the characters, Dostoievsky broaches the social issue where the characters are inserted. The social dimension is not present only in the composition of the characters of Dostoievsky, but in the ideological project proposed by the author (or various ideological projects, enabled by the use of the polyphony). The work is structured in two parts. At first, it is made an approach to the socio-economic and political context of the Tsarist Russia in the XIX century, for then discuss the importance of the social movements, that tried to fight the oppression of the tsarist regime, in the elaboration of the social novels of Dostoievsky.
