The object of study of this paper is the identifi cation Cacao Region, Region South Baiana, his history and confi rmation. Have with object to show an white understanding of the appearance that infl uence in the building of the local identity. To look for the history a connection with the Literature to secure the building of the identity that to succeded on various goods symbolic of the Region. The theoretical reference was in Stuart Hall, Eric Hobsbawm, and Maurice Halbwachs. Inspired in refl ection this study was proved all that the history and the fi ction have infl uence in the narrative that is identity.

Este trabalho tem como objeto de estudo o perfil identitário da Região do Cacau, Região Sul-baiana, sua história e consolidação. Tem como objetivo apontar para uma compreensão clara dos aspectos que influenciaram na construção de uma identidade local. Para tanto, buscou-se mapear uma descrição da história com foco na Literatura para firmar a construção de uma identidade que resultou em vários bens simbólicos da Região. O referencial teórico está centrado em Stuart Hall, Eric Hobsbawm e Maurice Halbwachs. Com base nas reflexões desenvolvidas ao longo do trabalho pode ser evidenciado o quanto a história e a ficção se influenciam reciprocamente e constituem a narrativa que nos identifica.
