    This paper propose discussing some poems of Arranjos para assobio (1980) wrote by Manoel de Barros, observing poetics tricks used by author, that characterize the contemporaneous poetry. Associated to the central target of the project – a analytical study and critical-interpretative of the imag inative and simplistic poetical of animal world image in the Manoel de Barros’ poetry – the following targets that direct the treatment of the subject may be focused: to investigate that the brazilian contemporary lyric, as well as in other nationalities, uses to make poetical images and situations that refer to the animal world charged by a strong imaginary and symbolic charge; To verify the fact that, although suggestions searched in inheritance of the bestiaries tradition, Manoel de Barros presents modulations marked by another context, in which the historical and cultural interposes when related to ideological and/or world of ideas. Thus, the main intention of this work consists of elucidating the bestiary of Barros in the refered work, observing the question related to the understanding of the man as animal being and its recurrence that may be found in the work of the writer.

    Este artigo propõe discutir poemas de Arranjos para assobio (1980), de Manoel de Barros, notando determinados recursos poéticos utilizados pelo autor, característicos da poesia contemporânea. No bojo da intenção central do projeto – um estudo analítico e críticointerpretativo do imaginário e do simbolismo poético da imagem do mundo animal na poesia de Manoel de Barros – os seguintes objetivos que direcionam o tratamento do assunto podem ser apontados: investigar que a lírica brasileira contemporânea, a exemplo da de outras nacionalidades, emprega no seu fazer poético imagens e situações referentes ao mundo animal carregadas de uma forte carga imaginária e simbólica; verificar o fato de que, apesar de sugestões buscadas à herança da tradição bestiária, Manoel de Barros apresenta modulações marcadas por outro contexto, no qual o histórico e cultural se interpõem enquanto formações ideárias e/ou ideológicas. Assim, a intenção principal deste trabalho consiste em elucidar o bestiário de Barros na obra citada, observando a questão da compreensão do homem como ser animal e sua recorrência que perpassa a obra do escritor.
