    O presente artigo trata do romance da nossa literatura “As Três Marias” (1939), de Raquel de Queiroz. O texto é de cunho fi ccionista, mas nos fornece pistas sobre práticas e comportamentos de uma época. A partir da leitura do texto, feita como complemento para a compreensão de outro estudo sobre um internato de meninas menores pobres localizado em Aracaju, surgiu a ideia de desenvolver este artigo, que pretende analisar as práticas educativas, condutas sociais e morais difundidas através do romance, assim como perceber as estratégias desenvolvidas pelas personagens para driblar os métodos utilizados na instituição para moças internas e externas, no início do século XX, sob a direção de freiras francesas. Espera-se com isso buscar uma compreensão sobre práticas, costumes e comportamentos, por meio de um aporte teórico-metodológico de abordagem históricocultural direcionado ao campo História da Educação, Literatura, História Social e Educação Feminina.

    The present article deals with the romance of our literature “The Three Marias” (1939), of Raquel de Queiroz, the text is of fi ctionist matrix more than in it supplies practical tracks to them on and behaviors of a time. From the reading of the text done as complement for understanding of another study on a boarding school of poor lesser girls located in Aracaju, the idea appeared to develop this article that it intends to analyze practical the educative ones, spread out social and moral behaviors through the romance, as well as, to perceive the strategies developed for the personages to dribble the methods used in the institution for internal and external young women, in the beginning of century XX, under direction of French nuns. One expects with this to search an understanding on practical, customs and behaviors, by means of one arrives in port theoretician-methodological of description historiccultural boarding directed to the fi eld History of the Education, Literature, Social History and Feminine Education.
