    La presente investigación con base en el modelo de la teoría fundamentada de Glaser y Strauss (1967) tiene como objetivo construir una teoría sobre la apropiación del patrimonio cultural zuliano, específicamente la gaita zuliana. Luego de plantear los fundamentos epistemológicos y elementos que conforman el modelo de Glaser y Strauss, el cual permite abordar la realidad social desde un enfoque cualitativo, se expone la experiencia de su aplicación, para lo cual se realizaron 15 entrevistas a estudiantes de la Escuela de Bibliotecología y Archivología de la Universidad del Zulia, posterior a la investigación guiada sobre la gaita zuliana. Este modelo se considera de gran ayuda para el abordaje de entornos sociales, siempre y cuando el investigador tenga desarrolladas habilidades para ser sensible a lo que los datos arrojen y centrarse en ellos, pues de allí es que debe emerger la teoría.

    Based on the theory model of Glaser and Strauss (1967), to construct a theory about the appropriation of Zulian cultural heritage, specifically the Zulian bagpipe. After presenting the epistemological foundations and elements that make up the Glaser and Strauss model, which allows to approach the social reality from a qualitative approach, the experience of its application is exposed, for which 15 interviews were carried out to students of the School of Librarianship and Archivology of the University of Zulia, after the guided research on the gaita zuliana. This model is considered of great help for the approach of social environments, as long as the researcher has developed abilities to be sensitive to what the data throw and to focus on them, for that is where the theory must emerge
