Arsénico total no deseado ante valores referenciales de ph en agua superficial, cuenca hidrográfica sama, Región Tacna-Perú

    El arsénico representa un peligro para los ecosistemas y la salud humana donde su biodisponibilidad inmediata en las aguas superficiales puede estar condicionado por parámetros físico-químicos como el pH. El propósito del estudio fue determinar las concentraciones de arsénico total ante valores de pH en el agua superficial de la cuenca hidrográfica-Sama, Región Tacna-Perú. Durante agosto y noviembre del 2016 como abril y junio del 2017 se realizó un muestreo probabilístico en cuatro puntos referenciales correspondientes a la estación de muestreo Sama Bocatoma-Tranca. Existieron diferencias estadísticamente significativas (p≤0.05) entre las concentraciones promedio de arsénico total en cada mes (0.0731; 0,29835; 0,287 y 0.711 mg.L-1) donde se superó el valor permisible por la norma ambiental de regulación utilizada (0,01 mg.L-1).  En el caso del pH, los valores se encontraron en el rango establecido y aunque fueron aceptados, debe limitarse el valor de uso sobre las aguas superficiales de la cuenca hidrográfica, ya que presentaron concentraciones de arsénico total no deseadas, lo cual podría ser perjudicial, si fueron destinadas al consumo sin tratamiento eficiente para el ser humano y/o riego de cultivo en el desarrollo agrícola.

    Arsenic represents a danger to ecosystems and human health where its immediate bioavailability in surface waters may be conditioned by physico-chemical parameters such as pH. The purpose of the study was to determine the concentrations of total arsenic at pH values in the surface water of the Sama basin, Tacna-Peru Region. During august and november of 2016 as april and june of 2017 a probabilistic sampling was carried out in four reference points corresponding to the sampling station Sama Bocatoma-Tranca. There were statistically significant differences (p≤0.05) between the mean concentrations of total arsenic in each month (0.0731; 0.299835; 0.287 and 0.711 mg.L-1) where the allowable value was exceeded by the environmental regulation standard used, 0.01 mg.L-1). In the case of pH, the values were found in the established range and although they were accepted, the use value should be limited to the surface water of the watershed, since they had undesired concentrations of total arsenic, which could be harmful, if they were destined to the consumption without efficient treatment for the human being and/or irrigation of culture in the agricultural development.
