Resumen de Aspectos de la identidad romana en época de crisis: consideraciones desde el Bellum lugurthinum de Salustio

El presente artículo analiza los discursos del Bellum lugurthinum de Salustio a fin de identificar características de la identidad romana en la crisis de la tardorepublica. Se advierte, por un lado, la identidad en referencia a los valores tradicionales de la Republica, y, por otro, su posible capacidad para ser adaptada por las comunidades foráneas que mantuvieron contacto con Roma.

The present article analyzes the speeches of Sallust’s Bellum lugurthinum in order to identify aspects of Roman identity in the Late Republic’s crisis. On the one hand, it is pointed out that the identity refers to the traditional values of the Republic, and on the other hand, to its possible capacity of being adapted by the foreign communities that had contact with Rome.
