    Two principal problems concerning the so called « Iaxa tympanum » (from St. Michael church in Olbin, Silesia) which have never been resolved convincingly enough, are the date of its exécution and the provenance of the workshop. These problems seem to find their resolution thanks to the analysis of the genealogical data of the personages represented on the tympanum which lets us put its execution about 1173/76 and owing to the epigraphic analysis which lets us relate the Iaxa tympanum inscriptions to those of the French-Iberian boundary, sensu largo, region.

    Les deux problèmes principaux concernant le tympan dit « de Iaxa » (provenant de l'église Saint-Michel d'Olbin, Silésie) — qui n'ont jamais été résolus de façon suffisamment convaincante — sont la date de son exécution et la provenance artistique de l'atelier. Ces problèmes semblent trouver leur solution dans l'analyse des données généalogiques des personnages représentés sur le tympan qui permet de le dater vers 1173/76 et dans l'analyse épigraphique qui permet de lier ses inscriptions à celles de la région frontalière, sensu largo, franco-ibérique.
