Resumen de Pentagrama histórico en la crónica lemebeliana: memoria reciente y cancionero latinoamericano

  Nos interesa explorar cómo se construye la memoria personal y colectiva de la historia latinoamericana reciente a partir de la lectura de las crónicas urbanas de Pedro Lemebel. Nos centraremos en el análisis de Serenata cafiola (2008) que reúne crónicas publicadas inicialmente en el diario La Nación Domingo. Esta escritura mantiene el trazo neobarroco y freak, y ahonda en las temáticas esbozadas en sus producciones anteriores, como la dictadura pinochetista, la política neoliberal de los 90, las prácticas homosexuales y travestis, los guetos urbanos, la cultura posmoderna. Al mismo tiempo, introduce un elemento que cohesiona los relatos: recupera –a modo de excusa, disparador o de fondo– diversos personajes, artistas, escenarios, recitales, melodías y letras musicales que, desde el recuerdo, hablan sobre el presente. Así, la música y el tono autobiográfico, marcado por una intimidad quebrada y una profunda tristeza, se constituyen en vectores de este pentagrama histórico.

  Our purpose is to find out how the individual and collective memory of the Latin-American history builds in Pedro Lemebel’s urban chronicles.

  The focus of our research will be SerenataCafiola ( CafiolaSerenade ) (2008), which collects the chronicles initially published in a newspaper called La NaciónDomingo . The text keeps the Neo-baroque and freak style, but it also delves into the themes treated in prior productions, such as, the dictatorship of Pinochet, the neo-liberal policy of the 1990’s, the homosexual andtransvestites practices, the urban ghettoes, and the post-modern culture.

  Furthermore, SerenataCafiola introduces an element which binds the texts together: it, either as an excuse, background or even as a trigger of a theme, gets back diverse characters, artists, contexts, concerts, melodies, and lyrics which, by the means of memories and the tradition of the Latin American songbook, speak about the present. Thus, music along with an autobiographical tone, which is marked by a broken intimacy and a deep sadness, become vectors for the recent historical staff.
