    A inicios del siglo XIX el virreinato del Perú estuvo en situación de alerta militar y las milicias disciplinadas creadas por el virrey Amat, que funcionaron de manera eficiente ante la Rebelión de Túpac Amaru, se mantuvieron preparadas y se incrementaron gracias a la formación de los cuerpos de artillería para enfrentar posibles levantamientos, que inevitablemente sucedieron como producto de los problemas generados por la invasión francesa de la Península, como lo fueron la constitución de las Juntas autonomistas de Quito y Chuquisaca, donde las tropas realistas del Perú cumplieron de manera satisfactoria su misión represiva.

    In the early nineteenth century the Viceroyalty of Peru was in a state of military alert and disciplined militias created by Amat viceroy, who worked efficiently to the Rebellion of Túpac Amaru, were kept ready and rose through the formation of bodies artillery to deal with possible uprisings that inevitably followed as a result of the problems caused by the French invasion of the Peninsula, as were the constitution of the Boards autonomy of Chuquisaca and Quito, where the royalist troops from Peru have successfully completed their mission repressive.
