La presencia del cautiverio en el panorama narrativo del Siglo de Oro fue abundante y contó con una nómina de autores extensa y variada. En el origen de esta modalidad literaria se sitúa el Viaje de Turquía, diálogo anónimo del siglo XVI en el que se adoptan, de manera consciente, buena parte de los rasgos que definirán la literatura de cautivos durante los años posteriores.

The presence of the captivity in light of the narrative scene of the spanish Golden Age was plentiful and included a wide and varied list of authors. At the beginning of this literary form is situated Viaje a Turquía, an anonymous dialogue of the sixteenth century where are adopted, consciously, many of the characteristics that define the captive’s literature for the subsequent years.
