El Modelo Gavilán y la competencia en el manejo de información en estudiantes de educación infantil

    Este estudio determinó la incidencia de la utilización del Modelo Gavilán en el desarrollo de la competencia en el manejo de información en estudiantes de Licenciatura en Educación Infantil de la Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas ESPE, de Ecuador, en los semestres agosto 2013enero 2014 y marzoagosto 2014. La investigación que hemos realizado ha sido aplicada, con enfoque cualicuantitativo, y de campo. El alcance de esta Investigación ha sido correlacional y el diseño cuasiexperimental. Este diseño se basó en un proceso de análisis de grupo único (tres paralelos de sexto nivel, conformado por 38 estudiantes con características similares, que le otorgan la calificación de homogéneo. Se ha tomado mediciones en tres momentos del proceso: pretest (inicio), posttest 1 (seis semanas) y posttest final (5 meses). Los resultados mostraron un elevado incremento del nivel de CMI de dichas estudiantes, con la aplicación del Modelo Gavilán que constituyó en un eficiente método estructurante del proceso de búsqueda y procesamiento de información: inició con 31,62% en promedio (Pretest), alcanzó 71,13%, luego de seis semanas de entrenamiento, para concluir en 80,24% al final de cinco meses del experimento. Así, el incremento neto referencial fue de 153,79% desde el inicio al final de este Estudio. Para la prueba de hipótesis se aplicó la t de Student y el programa Excel.

    This study determined the effect of using the Gavilan Model in the development of Information Management Competence (IMC) in students from the Bachelor ´s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas – ESPE of Ecuador, during the semesters August 2013January 2014 and MarchAugust 2014. An applied research has been done, with a qualitative, quantitative and field approach. The scope of this research has been a correlational and quasiexperimental design. This design was based on an analysis process of a unique group (three courses from 6th courses, composed by 38 students with similar characteristics, which give the homogenous rate. Some measurements have been taken three times in the process. Pretest (beginning), posttest (six weeks) and final posttest (five months). The results proved a high increase in the level of IMC of these students, with the application of the Gavilan Model which constituted an effect structure of research method and information process: it began with 31,62% on average (Pretest), it reached 71,13%, after six weeks of training, to conclude in 80,24% at the end of five months of the experiment . Thus, the referential net increase was in 153,79% since the beginning to the end of this study. To test the hypotheses, the T Student and Excel software were used.
