La participación de la mujer nicaragüense en el deporte durante la primera mitad del siglo XX se dio en disciplinas como el cricket, el baloncesto, el boxeo, el sóftbol y el béisbol. Las mujeres que practicaron estos deportes –con excepción del boxeo– pertenecían a la burguesía nacional, debido a que ellas tenían la capacidad económica para adquirir útiles deportivos y mantener una organización deportiva. Aparte de disponer del suficiente tiempo libre y el cuidado por su apariencia y salud que les permitía ejercer tal práctica cultural.
The participation of Nicaraguan women in sports during the first half of the twentieth century occurred in disciplines such as cricket, basketball, boxing, baseball and softball. Women who practiced these sports except boxingbelonged to the national bourgeoisie, because they had the financial capacity to acquire useful sport and maintain a sports organization. Apart from having enough time and care about their appearance and health allowed them to exercise such cultural practice.
