Resumen de Mittelalterliche Vorstellungen von Herrschaft und Gesetz1
Medieval views on government and law. This paper deals with four medieval writers, Thomas Aquinas, Marsilius of Padua, William of Ockham and Nicolás of Oresme, their theories about law, the relations between law and government. Elements of constitutionalism may be traced back to the late Middle Ages, although the authors still maintained a realistic view on realities without developping revolutionary or utopistic ideas. Nevertheless they saw rulers and people bound to each other by using the law as a link and created an ideological base for later developments
