Abstract/Introduction Bradyarrhythmias can be caused by alterations in the generation of the impulse in the sinus node or by alterations of the transmission of the same in different points of the specific system of conduction. Diagnosis The precise diagnosis of the type of alteration caused by bradyarrhythmia is key to establishing the treatment and, especially, the urgency with which it should be established. The correlation of the electrocardiographic findings with the patient's symptoms is also essential in the evaluation of the decision on the need for treatment. A key part of the diagnosis is the exclusion of potentially reversible causes of bradyarrhythmia. Management The management of bradyarrhythmias is directed, in the short term, to prevent cardiac arrest. In the long term, the need for permanent pacemaker implantation should be decided based on the type of alteration and the clinical repercussion for the patient.
