    En los albores del siglo XVI, la ciudad de Florencia sufrió diversos cambios de régimen de gobierno, en los que la influencia de las potencias extranjeras, especialmente de España y Francia, fue determinante. En todo este proceso, una familia de origen campesino, los Medici, supo aprovechar el momento para hacerse con el poder de una de las ciudades más importantes de Italia. A lo largo de este trabajo se analizará la influencia que, primero, Fernando el Católico y, después, Carlos V, tuvieron en la caída y posterior retorno de los Medici al gobierno de la ciudad de Florencia.

    At the dawn of the sixteenth century, the city of Florence underwent several changes of government, in which the influence of the foreign powers, especially Spain and France, was decisive. Throughout this process, a family of peasant origin, the Medici, took advantage of the situation to seize the power of one of the most important cities in Italy. Throughout this work will be analyzed the influence that, first Ferdinand the Catholic and, later, Charles V, had in the fall and later return of the Medici to the government of the city of Florence.
