    Roberto Rossellini sitúa su Germania, anno zero (1948) en un Berlín devastado por el nazismo. En un paisaje urbano en ruinas transcurre la vida de Edmund, un niño de 12 años, a quien le va a ser destinada la más siniestra de las tareas: matar a su padre enfermo. En un mundo regido por la ley, natural, del más fuerte, no hay lugar para los débiles. Apurado hasta el final el amargo cáliz de la culpa, el milagro del sufrimiento compartido será aún posible.

    El de la compasión será por ello el último acto de enunciación del film.

    Roberto Rossellini situates his Germany, Year Zero (1948) in a Berlin devastated by Nazism. In an urban landscape in ruins, we witness the life of a twelve year old boy, to who will be assigned the most sinister task: to kill his ill father. In a world governed by the natural law of the strongest, there is no place for the weak.

    There is still possible the miracle of the shared suffering once the bitter chalice of guilt is drunk, being compassion as the last act of enunciation of the film.
