Resumen de Proyecto de Investigación: el absentismo en el I.E.S. Joaquín Romero Murube

  El absentismo es una problemática multicausal por lo que no sólo debe abarcarse desde el ámbito educativo, sino también desde el familiar. Es por ello que este proyecto de investigación tiene como objetivos conocer en qué medida se produce el absentis- mo escolar en el IES Joaquín Romero Murube y también averiguar el valor de la educa- ción tanto para los alumnos/as como para sus familias.

  Partimos de la hipótesis que el absentismo escolar en el IES Joaquín Romero Murube disminuye ante aquellas familias que reciben algunas prestaciones sociales.

  Se ha escogido el IES Joaquín Romero Murube ya que dicho instituto se encuentra en el Polígono Sur de Sevilla, más concretamente en la barrida Murillo y dicho lugar es una zona de exclusión social y/o de transformación social.

  La motivación que mueve esta investigación es que consideramos que la educación es uno de los valores esenciales en el desarrollo vital de la persona. El elevado porcen- taje de absentismo escolar dentro del Instituto Joaquín Romero Murube contribuye a que este valor no se pronuncie. Las prestaciones económicas prestadas por los Servi- cios Sociales Comunitarios y sus requisitos pueden influir a que esta problemática no se incremente.

  Por lo tanto, para realizar este proyecto de investigación se ve idónea la utilización de una metodología mixta, es decir tanto cuantitativa como cualitativa
