    A meticulous examination reveals the composite nature of the introductory chapter of the book VII of the Dēnkard. This chapter is made up of two significant parts. Whereas the second contains the table of contents of the book, the first one not only announces, also in the form of a table of contents, but also contains the evocation of twenty selected heroes, classified in chronological order. Among them, some infrequent names. This selection is organized around the transmission of the Vaxša, seems to be a scripturary quotation, and therefore supplies very useful information on Avestan mythology

    Un examen minutieux dénonce le caractère composite du chapitre d'introduction du septième livre du Dēnkard. Deux grandes parties le composent. Tandis que la seconde donne la table des matières du livre, la première tout à la fois annonce, aussi sous forme de table des matières, puis contient l'évocation d'une sélection de vingt héros rangés selon un ordre chronologique parmi lesquels figurent quelques raretés. Cette sélection, vertébrée par la transmission du Vaxša, a tout l'air d'une citation scripturaire et fournit donc des renseignements d'une grande valeur pour l'étude de la mythologie avestique
