Resumen de Calidad de los suelos y aguas para riego en áreas cacaoteras de Manabí

  Para  determinar  la  calidad  de  los  suelos  y  aguas  que  se utilizan  en  la  irrigación  del  cacao,  se  muestrearon  seis agro  ecosistemas  de  Manabí.  Los  suelos  tuvieron  reacción prácticamente neutra, alta disponibilidad de P, K, Ca y Mg, y Fe, en casi todos los sitios, así como déficit de N, S y MO, y en Cu, Zn, Mn y B (en la mayoría). Relaciones Ca/Mg  adecuadas y Ca+Mg/K y Mg/K no, la ∑ de bases fue buena. El agua de pozo  tuvo  CE  que  podría  afectar  a  las  plantas  en  Higuerón Adentro (Portoviejo) y El Níspero (Santa Ana), y contaminación en todos los lugares por TSD, CO3=, HCO3- y Cl-. Para el agua de  los  ríos  limitaciones  en  TSD,  CO3=  y  HCO3-.  Según  la calidad, el agua de pozos en Higuerón Adentro (Portoviejo) y El Níspero (Santa Ana) no fue óptima para su empleo; el agua de todos los ríos, puede usarse sin impedimentos.

  In order to determine the quality of soils and water used for growing cocoa, samples were taken from six agro-ecosystems of Manabí. The soils had an almost neutral reaction; high availability of P, K, Ca and Mg, and Fe (in almost all sites); and deficit of N, S and MO, and Cu, Zn, Mn and B (in the majority).

  The Ca/Mg ratio was appropriated, while the Ca+Mg/K and Mg/K ratio was not, the ∑ of the alkalis was good. Water extracted from wells showed CE values that could affect crops in Higuerón Adentro (Portoviejo) and El Níspero (Santa Ana), and contamination in all areas by TSD, CO 3 =, HCO 3 - and Cl-.

  The water taken from rivers had limitations of TSD, CO 3 = and HCO 3 -. The water quality results indicated that the water sampled from wells in Higuerón Adentro and El Níspero is not optimal for cocoa farming; on the other hand the sample from rivers can be used without restriction.
