The renovation of infrastructures and paving in the historic quarter of Berantevilla in no way affected any part of the area’s historical heritage, and nothing of archaeological interest was found. The new constructions are located on the site of the old pipes and the general stratigraphy contains clay and/or yellowish gravel layers, resulting from the location of the site in the Ayuda River basin. As regards the square, despite the high likelihood of finding elements related to the medieval cemetery belonging to the Asunción de Nuestra Señora Church, previous disturbances to the subsoil of the square as the result of past pipe-laying operations were, in all probability, the reason why no graves were found during these renovations.
