Switching algebra is used in a form including quantized time, so that variables become sequential variables. In the case of stochastical sequential variables, it is shown, basic theorems of information theory can be applied.
The special case of logical distortion which, however, is close enough to the general case, allows the decomposition of unreliable networks into the corresponding reliable network and a logically distorted binary channel.
A class of logical functions is used for the synthesis of more reliable networks from less reliable elements. The results turn out to fall between those obtained by SHANNON and by VON NEUMANN.
