  • Resumen
    • In Brazil, DuSolo Fertilizers Inc. began mining phosphate rock at its Bomfim project in the Cerrado region of Brazil for the production of direct application natural fertiliser (DANF), while regional peer MbAC Fertilizer Corp. shifted to SSP production, and, at the end of 2014, was closing in on commercial production volumes.

Prices increased across reporting regions for fertiliser minerals for most of 2014, rising back from the lows of 2013. Some regions saw prices fall heading into 2014, as contracts rolled over long after the BPC split.

Potash saw more mixed pricing fortunes despite an overall increase, because of more tumultuous market conditions and continuing oversupply uncertainty. Nevertheless, Potash muriate, KCl, standard, bulk, FOB Baltic stood at $300-350/tonne towards the end of last year, up from $290-310/tonne in early 2014.
